Calcette is a collection of small, focused calculators for the numbers that come up in everyday life — pay, percentages, grades and dates. Each one does a single job, works instantly in your browser and explains how the answer was reached.

Where the name comes from

Calculette is French for a pocket calculator. The word "calculate" itself goes back to the Latincalculus, a small pebble — the kind people once used for counting. Calcette is our little calculator.

How the calculators are built

• Every formula is written out on the page, so you can check the working.
• Calculations are covered by automated tests before anything goes live.
• Everything runs in your browser. The numbers you type are never sent to a server.

Results are estimates for general information. For anything with real consequences — tax, loans, medical decisions — please confirm with a qualified professional.
